Canton-based classic rock and blues band Second Hand Mojo

A weekly showcase featuring local artists

Name: Second Hand Mojo

Sound: Blues, rock, classic rock

Lineup: Chuck Riepenhoff, vocals; Vern Springer, guitar and vocals; Marq "Q" Andrew Speck, keyboards and vocals; James Hampton, bass and vocals; Scott Brokaw, percussion and vocals.

History: The Canton-based band was founded when bandmates Springer and Brokaw decided to start a new project together and rounded up the current lineup for a new blues and classic rock project. They've released handfuls of songs on major streaming platforms and the video for their upbeat song "Good Vibes," which was filmed in Onsted, Michigan, has reached 1 million views on YouTube. The song also inspired a beer from Canton Brew Works, Good Vibes Cream Ale.

The latest: Second Hand Mojo's new single is "Sister Surrender," which Springer describes as a story in three acts about a mysterious woman. Catch the band this summer at the Uncle Sam Jam at Woodhaven Civic Center Park, 23101 Hall in Woodhaven. They're scheduled to play 6:30 p.m. July 14 at the weekend festival.
