Detroit — Amid its electric transition, Cadillac is still revealing refreshed gas-powered products like the CT5 sedan, which will arrive in the 2025 model year with a revamped front fascia, more safety and technology features and a 33-inch-diagonal LED color touchscreen display.

Cadillac revealed the coming CT5 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on Wednesday. The 2025 Cadillac CT5 will be built at GM’s Lansing Grand River Assembly plant, with production slated to start in spring 2024. Additional details, including pricing, will be released at a later date.

Cadillac is continuing on its journey toward an all-electric lineup by 2030 but John Roth, the new head of the luxury brand, declined to say if the 2025 CT5 will be the last internal combustion engine version of the sedan. Wednesday's CT5 refresh reveal comes after GM unveiled its all-electric $130,000 Escalade IQ last month in New York.

"We have a lot more to talk about in the months ahead, so we just ask you to stay tuned in to the Cadillac brand," he told media.

That includes more details on refreshed versions of the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing.

Updates on the CT5 revealed Wednesday include a lower and wider front grille with redesigned Cadillac signature vertical lighting and stacked LED headlamps.

Other new features include:

  • Available 5G Wi-Fi hotspot capability
  • Google built-in compatibility, since GM has moved away from having Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Standard blind-zone steering assist
  • Standard intersection automatic emergency braking
  • Available traffic sign recognition and intelligent speed assist
  • Driver attention assist, which is part of the available Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance technology
  • New exterior color options: Deep Space Metallic and Typhoon Metallic

The rear-wheel-drive CT5 comes standard with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine. It offers 237 horsepower, 258 pound-feet of torque and dual exhaust tips. There's also an available 3.0-liter turbo V-6 engine that offers 335 horsepower and 405 pound-feet or torque.

In this computer generated image, the Cadillac CT5's new 33-inch-diagonal LED color touchscreen display is capable of 9K resolution and curves toward the driver in a single, continuous screen spanning the driver's viewing area.

All-wheel drive is also available to help with traction and vehicle control in a variety of driving conditions.

A driver mode selector allows the driver to tailor the CT5’s responses to different driving conditions, including steering, engine sound and brake feel.

The CT5 has been performing well for the luxury brand with its retail sales up 35.6% calendar year to date. In August alone, its sales were up almost 71%, Roth said.

"That's a number worth noting and it's the best August we've ever had with CT5," Roth said. We're "really proud of what that vehicle is doing for us."
