Clinton Twp. man charged in slayings of sister, boyfriend

Robert Marzejka, a 24-year-old Clinton Township man, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of his 18-year-old sister and her 19-year-old boyfriend whose bodies were found Sunday night behind the sister's home.

Crime Stoppers and the U.S. Marshals Service are on the lookout for Marzejka, and there is a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Police have identified the victims as Danielle Marzejka, 18, and Seren Bryan, 19.

Macomb Probate Court records show Marzejka was listed as a "mentally ill person," and a petition was filed in 2015 to commit him to a mental hospital, although the petition was dismissed in January 2018.

Capt. Richard Maierle, of the Clinton Township Police Department, said he believes the suspect, Marzejka, suffers from mental illness. The captain added he isn't sure of a motive for the murder.

"Unfortunately, the victim isn't around to tell us, and we can't find (Marzejka)," Maierle said.

Marzejka was reported to be driving a white 1999 Ford E-250 van with a Michigan license plate DGM7658. Blue duct tape appears around the driver's side rear window, police said.

The bodies of Bryan and his girlfriend were found in a shed behind the woman's home on Culver in Rudgate, a mobile home community north of 16 Mile and west of Groesbeck.
