MSU hoops No. 11, UM No. 21 in CBS Sports' updated Top 25

The NCAA early entrant withdrawal deadline for the NBA Draft has come and gone.

And after the dust — and rosters — have settled, Michigan State ranks No. 11 and Michigan No. 21 in CBS Sports' updated 2018-19 college basketball rankings.

While Michigan State will be moving on without Miles Bridges and Jaren Jackson Jr., CBS Sports' Gary Parrish is still high on the Spartans, who return starters Cassius Winston (12.6 points, 6.9 assists), Nick Ward (12.4 points, 7.1 rebounds) and Joshua Langford (11.7 points). 

"The losses of Bridges and Jackson to the NBA Draft will hurt. But it's not like Tom Izzo didn't have time to prepare for that development," writes Parrish, who has Michigan State ranked as the top Big Ten team.

"And there are still enough nice pieces in East Lansing — plus a top-15 recruiting class on the way — to make the Spartans the favorite to win back-to-back Big Ten regular-season titles."

Like Michigan State, Michigan will have to deal with an early departure of its own — big man Moritz Wagner — but will also be welcoming a highly rated 2018 class and returning three starters, highlighted by wing Charles Matthews (13 points, 5.5 rebounds).

"Even with the unsurprising loss of Moe Wagner, Michigan still belongs in the Top 25 (and one) — especially with Charles Matthews back on the roster," Parrish writes. "(Matthews') development under John Beilein, like most players' development under the top-shelf coach, has been noticeable. Matthews could compete for Big Ten Player of the Year honors."

Kansas checks in at No. 1, with the Big Ten's Maryland (No. 23) and Indiana (No. 25) rounding out the list.
