Andrew Dennis, a one-time Michigan State commit who was an early enrollee at Illinois, announced Thursday evening on social media that he’ll be moving back a little closer to home and plans to join the Spartans’ 2024 class.

Former four-star offensive lineman Andrew Dennis will be a Spartan after all.

Dennis, a one-time Michigan State commit who was an early enrollee at Illinois, announced Thursday evening on social media that he’ll be moving back a little closer to home and plans to join the Spartans’ 2024 class.

A 6-foot-5, 290-pound interior lineman from Mount Pleasant, Dennis originally committed to Michigan State last spring under former head coach Mel Tucker. But Dennis decided to reopen his recruitment after Tucker was fired during last season for sexual misconduct.

Dennis reportedly went through spring practice at Illinois under coach Bret Bielema. He decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal earlier this week before the spring window closed.

Dennis’ pending arrival comes on the heels of Michigan State losing two offensive lineman to the portal, including East Lansing native Ethan Boyd.
