Lions’ starting offensive line nears return to health

Allen Park — The Detroit Lions had all five of their starting offensive linemen practicing Wednesday, although two, guard T.J. Lang (foot) and right tackle Rick Wagner (ankle), remained limited.

Center Travis Swanson, who has missed the past two games with a concussion, was a full participant.

Also limited was tight end Eric Ebron (knee), who is on the cusp of playing all 16 games for the first time in his four-year career. Cornerback Nevin Lawson (concussion) and defensive end Dwight Freeney (not injury related) were the only players to sit out the session.

Lions add QB

The Lions signed quarterback Alek Torgersen to the practice squad Wednesday, replacing Brad Kaaya, who joined the Indianapolis Colts’ active roster.

Undrafted out of Penn, Torgersen spent the offseason with Atlanta and was most recently a member of Washington’s practice squad.

In 10 games with Penn last season, the 6-foot-2, 230-pound passer completed 66.9 percent of his throws for 2,231 yards, 17 touchdowns and four interceptions. He also rushed for eight scores.
