Snacks for Snacks: Golden Tate takes care of new teammate Damon Harrison

Allen Park – A day before the Detroit Lions’ trade for Damon “Snacks” Harrison became official, wide receiver Golden Tate took to Twitter to ask the 355-pounder if there were any snacks he could pick up for the big man before his arrival.

A few hours later, Harrison replied, letting Tate know he was a “Butterfinger and Honey Bun type of man.”

Tate delivered and then some.

Harrison didn’t have the time to talk to reporters on Thursday, since he was busy with other first-day meetings at the team’s facility. But in his locker was a large box filled with junk food: Sour Patch Kids, Reese's Cups, Chili Cheese Fritos, Butterfingers, Honey Buns, Cool Ranch Doritos.

“I had to be a man of my word,” Tate said. “My guy told me what he likes and I made it happen. It’s the least I can do.”

Perhaps for the best, Lions nutritionist Sarah Snyder was unavailable for comment.
